Skippy the Chinchilla

Skippy is a standard grey chinchilla and was born on an unknown day in an unknown place at an unknown time. That's right, we bought him from the pet store in August 2004. This was before we knew any better. As it happens, though, Skippy is the reason this site came to be.
I had already done research before I bought Skip, but I continued to do more and more research after I bought him. Eventually I found the Chins-n-Quills Forum. There I learned all about chinchillas, and soon I began learning about hedgehogs, which eventually turned into the creation of this site.
When we bought Skippy, he was small, afraid, had been fed the wrong food, had the wrong kind of cage, etc... He now lives in a Quality Cage Chinchilla Mansion, with all the chew toys he could ever want. He spends most of his time sleeping in his hidey house or hammock, but occasionally finds time to run on his Chin-Spin wheel or bounce around his giant cage. Every day he gets a supervised playtime, in which he gets to explore around the bathroom and hallway. He also gets daily "bonding" time, in which he is talked to through the cage and is held or rides on my shoulder.
